Artist Research: Thomas Doyle
Thomas Doyle
Thomas Doyle Diorama is a known artist who has created a wide variety of miniature-size landscapes amongst other things. He has created artwork in a one to 43 scale ratio. This is extremely impressive, the accuracy patience, and effort this required are very high.
This exact diorama titled represents a house cut in half down a hill with interesting is that the hill was cut in half as well. I have also noticed that on the soil there are cuts and tears to represent soil coming off the rock. This first piece is useful as it represents a ruined structure just as my castle will be ruined as well. I also think it is clear that it is better to focus less on detail at the start and work my way up with detail towards the end of the diorama. He has also included plants including trees and grass and flowers, I believe me doing the same with seaweed and algae to represent an underwater sea bed in my diorama is a great idea.
This second piece titled Beset represents an old abandoned house in what seems to be a forest, there is a lot of greenery and overgrown plants all over the rocks and the house as well this is a good reference for when I create my drama and appliance yes also added what seems to be characters made of rocks perhaps to present statues of miniature size.
