What should I be doing in my subject area?

It depends on the game and division the game artist is in, he would need to work on that certain aspect such as weaponry in a shooter game. I should be researching about games, game art production and direction. What engines and programs are used for making the art for the games. The process of producing game art, concept art, transitioning from basic sketches to finalized splash art and then to 3D production in games.

What skills do I need for my subject area?

Digital programs expertise such as Photoshop, z brush, Maya, unreal engine. Good structure of human anatomy, environment understanding of depth. 

What jobs can i get?

UI designer

UX designer

game artist

weapon artist

environmental artist

character artist

7.5, good knowledge of the subject area and clear understanding of it, however could have more knowledge and be more precise about the skills.

  1. Some interesting thoughts...for the skills, you don't mention drawing and this is clearly your weak spot. As things stand, this blog is failing to meet the basic assessment criteria - it is inconsistent, there is little evidence that you have generated many hand made sketches, the research is thin and doesn't really support your idea very well. I recommend you start to engage with this to improve what you have otherwise you will be facing reassessment at the end of the term. The blog is 70% of your overall mark for this project.

  2. Louai, it is now over four weeks since you have posted on your blog. If you want to achieve a pass mark for this part of the Art Portfolio module, it is important that you update this with development of your project, process, further background and artist research as well as your final outcomes and final reflection.
