Ghost Of Tsushima

 Ghost Of tsushima

As we can see by the cover art of this game which is similar to my game in a lot of ways. There is clear detail and craftsmanship in the weaponry including the main character's sword and bow etc. This is useful to note and will be taken into consideration when designing my weaponry.

Jason Conell, art director of the game had the following to say (2021) "When you're traveling across the island, you see little farms and villages and small buildings that make the map feel really alive." This is clear that paying attention to little detail in the environment of the game attracts the player and makes the game more interesting. Even if it isn't really useful in the game itself. It is still engaging and entertaining for the player. This is clear that fine detailing in video games is key.

Conell further speaks about how color is everything in-game art, it can bring an environment to life. "And so we allow these areas to be filled with color." (Conell, 2021). It is clear that color is very important and helps describe an environment and whether it is dangerous or not or perhaps peaceful or a save point etc.

We can also see by the different armor sets in this game that they're mainly traditional to the Japanese samurai which is something I aim to do as well.
